Presence of leopards create panic in Nowpora Jagir Bla

Panic gripped the entire locality of Nowpora Jagir in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after locals spotted three leopards in the area on Thursday.

News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) quoted officials as saying that the teams of the wildlife department were deployed at every hotspot in Nowpora Jagir and the adjoining villages to capture the wild animals.

The operation was later called off after the teams found no traces of leopards, the officials, as per KNO, said, adding that the department has only two teams available and both have been presently deployed in Langate and Mawar areas to capture the leopards.

The official from the wildlife department said the search to capture leopards in Nowpora Jagir will resume tomorrow.

However, the locals after spotting the leopards have been making efforts to capture the wild animals on their own.
