7 killed, 16 injured as bus carrying pilgrims to Vaishno Devi shrine falls into gorge
The bus fell into a gorge near Jhajjar Kotli along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway
At least seven pilgrims on their way to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir were killed and 16 others injured when a bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
According to the police, the bus carrying approximately 75 passengers and bearing number UP81CT 3537 was on its way to Katra from Amritsar when it met with the accident near Jhajjar Kotli village. A majority of the pilgrims are from Bihar, officials said.
Four seriously injured pilgrims have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital at Jammu.
