COVID-19: Magam police station sealed after 7 cops test positive
Srinagar: Police Station Magam has been completely sealed and turned into a quarantine centre after 7 policemen were tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Magam, Showkat Ahmed told that on May 21, samples of 12 policemen from police station Magam were lifted and yesterday out of those 12 policemen 7 were tested positive.
“Cops tested positive were shifted to JVC SKIMS Bemina while all the primary and secondary contacts of these policemen were traced and quarantined.”
SDPO Magam said 207 contacts of these infected policemen have been traced. “Primary contacts have been quarantined at Degree College Magam while secondary contacts are put in quarantine at police station Magam,” he said.
The police officer added that entry and exit points of both police station and Degree College Magam have been sealed.
“The samples of all the contacts of the infected policemen have been collected and report will hopefully arrive on Friday evening,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Magam, Showkat Ahmed told. (KNT)
