Srinagar: Three militants were killed, an army major, and two policemen were also injured in a gunfight in Yadipora area of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A local news gathering agency Global News Service (GNS) quoting unnamed officials reported that three militants were killed in a gunfight, however their identification couldn’t be ascertained yet.
GNS further reported that an army major and two policemen were also injured during exchange of fire.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s RR 29 and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Yadipora.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
