In an initiative to improve ties with the civil population and give them a chance to showcase their talent, a cricket tournament was organized for the youth of the Pulwama by 55RR a COY, Tahab.
A total of 32 teams participated in the tournament. “The players displayed their best skills and efforts to make the event successful,” an official said.
He added The event aimed to look for upcoming cricketers and create a benchmark in sports at the grassroots level.
Prizes for the winning team, Man of the Match, Man of the Series, and best upcoming talent were also distributed to motivate and encourage the players.
Official added, “The event also allowed the young talent of Pulwama to showcase themselves and motivate them to take up sports as a career.”
The grand final culminated with the Chief guest, Colonel ST Sebestian felicitating the match-winning and match changing performers
Sebestian appreciated the people and players for making such a huge event successful.
He assures in the future army will make more endeavors to provide Kashmir youth more opportunities to express themselves.
