Couple among three killed in Jammu road accident
Srinagar: Three persons including an old couple were killed and two others were seriously injured when the car in which they were traveling collided with a safety wall of Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Mangtian Morh under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station in Kathua district, reported Daily Excelsior.
As per reports, one Swift Dzire car bearing Registration No JK02BL-6800 was on way towards Kathua from Jammu. When it reached near a sharp curve at Mangtian Morh, the driver lost the control and car hit road side safety wall of NH. The front portion of car was badly damaged. Five persons travelling in the car were critically injured. Some passerby noticed the accident and informed the Rajbagh Police.
A police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to GMC Kathua for treatment. The doctors at GMC declared three persons as brought dead and two ladies who were seriously injured were admitted in the Hospital for treatment. But as their condition also turned critical they were later shifted to GMC Jammu for better medicare facilities, said the report.
The dead have been identified as Krishna Devi, 85, W/o Om Parkash , Om Parkash, 90 S/o late Hansh Raj and driver Ram Paul, 55, years. All of them were residents of Bishnah Jammu. The dead bodies were handed over to family members after postmortem for last rites.
The injured were identified as Asha Rani, W/o Prem Kumar age 60 years and Srista Devi W/o Pawan Kumar age 55 years, residents of Bishnah, Jammu.
The Rajbagh police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation, Daily Excelsior reported.
