Srinagar: The death toll due to the coronavirus has reached to eighty-seven in Jammu and Kashmir as two more patients died in the Valley in the last 12 hours, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer.
Among the two patients who died due to COVID-19 in last 12 hours include an 85-year-old man from Kulgam and a 58-year-old woman from Natipora area of Srinagar.
Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, said that an elderly man from Kulgam died at the hospital on Tuesday morning.
He said the patient was admitted to the hospital on 5 June and was suffering from heart ailments besides hypertension.
Dr Saleem Tak, Medical Superintendent at Chest Disease hospital said that a lady from Natipora Srinagar died at the hospital few hours after she was shifted from Shri Mharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar on Monday evening.
The patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, diabetes and hypertension, he said.
With their death, the death toll in J-K has reached to eighty-seven including seventy-seven from Kashmir and ten from Jammu division. (KNO)
