Srinagar: Two Polish nationals died and 19 others were rescued after a group of tourists were hit by a massive avalanche at the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Police said rescue operations are underway. The avalanche hit Afarwat peak today afternoon.
A video from the scene captured the panic among tourists as the whoosh of snow came rolling down.

“Rescue ops at Gulmarg avalanche, Baramulla police teams along with others on job.So far 19 foreign nationals have been rescued successfully. Dead bodies of 2 foreign nationals recovered being shifted to hospital for medico legal procedure,” police said.
On January 29, a woman and a teenage girl were killed after they came under an avalanche in the Kargil district of Ladakh.
