DIG Amit Kumar visits Budgam, reviews law and order scenario

Deputy Inspector of General of Police Central Kashmir Amit Kumar-IPS on Tuesday visited District Police Office Budgam and chaired a review meeting pertaining to security scenario, anti- militancy operations, law and order, drive against drug mafia, illegal mining and other issues related to day to day policing .

In a statement, the police said that the meeting was attended by SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem-JKPS, Addl.SP Budgam, Dy. SP Hqrs Budgam, SDPO ChareSharief, SDPO Magam, SDPI Khan , Dy. SP DAR, Dy. SP Chadoora, Dy. SP Budgam along with all SHOs and chowki officers of Distt Budgam.

The spokesperson further stated that SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem-JKPS gave a detailed presentation about various aspects of policing including status of crime, implementation of COVID SOPs and public oriented plans were also discussed in the meeting.

DIG CKR appreciated the efforts of District police Budgam in containment of Covid-19 Pandemic and maintaining law and order in the district. During the meeting, he also reviewed the overall security situation, counter insurgency operations and measures taken to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district, they said.

DIG CKR directed all the officers to complete investigation of pending cases on priority. He also laid emphasis on strengthening the police public relations , service oriented policing which will help gain the confidence and trust of community members and to have professional approach in dealing with counter militancy operations, they said.

He lauded the efforts of Budgam police for their professionalism exhibited during recent unfortunate incidents of drowning of a teenage boy at Arigam Khansahib and attack on a 4-year-old girl by a wild animal at Ompora Budgam, they said.

Earlier, Deputy Inspector General of Police CKR was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honor presented by Contingent of Budgam Police, reads the statement.(GNS)
