Driver injured after fire tender turns turtle in Baramulla
A fire service personnel (driver) was injured after a fire tender he was driving turned turtle on way to douse off flames in a house in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday.
Official sources told GNS that the driver, Rajinder Singh of Rafiabad, suffered severe injuries following the accident which occurred due to the skidding of the sloping road.
They said that a single-storey house adjacent to the spot of the accident also suffered damage in the accident.
An officer of the fire services department told GNS that soon after getting the information about the fire incident at Shahihamdani colony area of Old Town Baramulla this morning, three fire tenders were rushed to the “high altitude” area. “Due to scarcity of the water, we rushed three fire tenders but after one passed and reached near the spot, the second one turned turtle due to skidding of the road,” the officer said, adding, “Driver of the fire tender suffered grave injuries.”
Sources said that the fire severely damaged the house before the flames were doused off. (GNS)
