Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah has decided to step down as a party president on Friday, informed the party’s spokesperson Imran Nabi.
“Dr Farooq Abdullah Sahib has informed his colleagues of his decision to step down as president of JKNC,” he told the reporters.
He added: “In spite of the best efforts of senior colleagues in the party Abdullah was adamant that he wouldn’t review his decision.”
He further said that party’s General Secretary has been tasked with conducting the election on 5 December for party president.
“Until that time Dr Sahib continues as President of the party,” he said.
