HED mulls to make PG, Research Prog admissions available in IIT – Jammu
SRINAGAR: The Higher Education Department is mulling to make available admissions for Post Graduate and research programme candidates in different fields at Institute of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu to the existing faculty members of degree colleges of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Higher Education Department and IIT Jammu, both the parties have decided to uphold the initiative.
It also said that the MoU will work on developing the Mentor-Mentee relationship between IIT Jammu and Degree Colleges of J&K.
“Improving the level of teaching at Degree Colleges, Engineering, Science and Humanities of J&K by improving the knowledge of existing faculty,” reads the MoU.
The department also said that it will further work on development of incubation and innovation ecosystems in the Colleges of JK.
Extending help in internship and placement of students from Degree Colleges in lead industries is one of another step of the MoU.
It also said that it will focused also on enhancing the skill of the graduates and existing students of the Degree Colleges of J&K and vocational training of students of the Degree Colleges of J&K.
