hideout busted in Anantnag, drugs recovered: Police
Police claimed to have busted another hideout in Tulkhan Bijbhera in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district here on Tuesday.
In a statement, the police said that after busting an under ground hideout about a fortnight before in village Tulkhan Bijbehara, Anantnag police again recovered huge consignment of drugs from an underground hideout in the village.
Based on specific information Police established a Naka at Tulkhan crossing and apprehended one
Farooq Ahmad Baht resident of Marhama and recovered 10 bottles of codeine from his possession, they said.
Upon this FIR No 92/2021 under sections 8/20,21 NDPS Act was lodged in Police Station Bijbehara. On further questioning the accused revealed the name of one dealer Mohd Ashraf Khan of Tulkhan village, from whom he has been procuring the drugs, they said.
Statement further stated that subsequently a police party from Bijbehara along-with executive magistrate rushed to the spot. While searching the house of accused, police from courtyard recovered Charas Powder quantity of 34.7 kgs, Codeine quantity of 80 bottles and Spasmo-Proxyvon quantity of 4500 capsules.
These drugs were concealed in an underground hideout and also beneath the earth in courtyard of the accused. The courtyard was dug out with JCB to recover the drugs. All accused have been arrested, they said.
It is pertinent to mention that one such hideout was busted in the village on 7 April and huge consignment of drugs was recovered, they said.
Police in Anantnag has launched a decisive war against drug peddling and it is firmly reiterated that one and all involved in drug trafficking will face the wrath of law, reads the statement.(GNS)
