Husband-wife duo arrested for peddling drugs in Budgam
Budgam: Police said they have arrested a couple for peddling drugs in central Kashmir and have also recovered contraband substances on Sunday.
Police spokesperson as per a press release said that while continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from society, Budgam Police arrested husband-wife drug peddlers and recovered Contraband substances from their possession
“Police Station Budgam received an information that one couple living in a rented accommodation near Railway Station Budgam & are actively involved in sale of contraband substance. During search of the said place, police party recovered 4 Grams of Heroin like substance, 01 digital balance and some insulin syringes,” it reads.
As per police, “the duo has been arrested and identified as: Shah Faisal son of Gulzar Ahmed Shah, Nowsheen Faisal wife of Shah Faisal, residents of Mohanpora Ompora Budgam,” reads the assertion.
Moreover, “case FIR number 274/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam & investigation taken up. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” it reads.
