Innovative AI Insemination Holds Out Great Potential for Advancements in Sheep Farming in Watrahail Block

Watrahail, Budgam: The application of Artificial insemination(AI) techniques is anticipated to yield major gains, marking a groundbreaking step that will push sheep farming in the Watrahail block to new heights, says the Sheep Husbandry Department Watrahail.
This innovation has the potential to expand genetic variety, improve breeding procedures, and ultimately increase the productivity of sheep farming in the area, Dr Umer Majeed Dar, a Veterinary assistant surgeon said.
Explaining Artificial insemination, Dr. Umar, who is also Panchayat Prabhari of Hukhlatri Panchayat said, it is the process of using sophisticated technologies and exacting methods to speed up the mating process of sheep.
Farmers can choose excellent breeding stock with AI, guaranteeing desired qualities in the progeny and preserving a strong and healthy sheep herd, he added.
“We are thankful to Sheep Husbandry Department Budgam and particularly to Dr Umar for introducing and motivating us to use it,” said Ghalam Nabi Mir, a resident of Watrahail Village.
He continued by saying that throughout the previous few years, the department has been constantly there for us, helping us to take advantage of many helpful schemes.
