LG meets families of Rajouri trio killed in Shopian fake encounter
Srinagar: In a first, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha walked an almost half-a kilometer to reach Tarkassi village in Rajouri district where he met family members of three youth killed in a staged gunfight on 18 July in Amshipora, Shopian and assured parents of slain youth that justice will be delivered at any cost.
A local news gathering agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that LG Sinha first addressed a public gathering in a Rajouri village and later walked almost half a kilometer to reach Tarkassi village. “Here, the LG visited the house of Muhammad Yousuf, the father of one of the slain trio. Other two families were also present at Yousuf’s house. LG gave a patient hearing to the demands put forth by the families of slain trio and assured them all the possible help,” officials said.
They said the family members of slain youth Imtiyaz Ahmed, 26, Ibrar Ahmed 20 and Ibrar Ahmed, 16, demanded justice from the J-K LG and compensation, stating that so far J-K government and police has been very cooperative with them. “The LG assured all three families that justice will be delivered and there would be no laxity. He asked the families to let the probe complete first and hailed their patience,” officials said—(KNO)
