MeT predicts snowfall in Kashmir from 22 Jan
The Meteorological (MeT) department on Monday said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snow over the plains from 22 January in Kashmir.
Deputy Director of the meteorological office, Mukhtar Ahmad told The Kashmir Walla, “Weather is likely to be cloudy with chances of light rain or snow over higher reaches from 19 to 21 January.”
He added that the western disturbance is going to affect Jammu and Kashmir from 22 January. “From 22nd to 24 January, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snow over plains as well as higher reaches,” he said.
Ahmad said that the department will keep giving updates regarding the changes in weather conditions in the coming days.
Three days ago, Kashmir parts including Srinagar received fresh snowfall resulting in delays in flights at the Srinagar reports and suspension of surface transport on Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
