Militancy case: NIA raids underway at 9 locations in Kashmir
The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted raids at multiple locations in Kashmir including summer capital Srinagar in a militancy case registered case.
Official sources said that sleuths of NIA with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF carried out raids at Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag district of the valley. The searches are being carried out in a case registered last year that alleges criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and OGWs of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates and off-shoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani handlers, they said.
In Srinagar, the sleuths of national probing agency raided the residence of Juanid Ahmad Teli son of Abdul Rashid Teli residing at Slafiya Masjid Iqbal Colony 90 Feet road Soura. His actual resident of Yaripora Kulgam was also thoroughly searched. As per reports the team seized a cell phone during this riad.
In Pulwama district, houses of Zeeshan Altaf, son of Mohammad Altaf Bhat in Nillora and Arif Malik son of Ghulam Hussan Malik from Litter were searched by the probing agency.
Similarly, in Kulgam the agency raided the residence of Altaf Ahmad Wagay (milkman) at Yaripora, Farooq Ahmad Dar (farmer) at Hanger and Ashraf Ahmad Sheikh, brother of slain commander Abass Sheikh at Rampora.
The house of one Ubaid Ahamad son of Ghulam Qadir Vaid R/0 Magray Mohalla Achabal was also searched by the sleuths of NIA.
Residence of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat son of Ab. Khalil Bhat, a resident of Chermarg Zainapora in Shopian and Abdul Kabir Dar S/O Abdul Khaliq Dar R/O Wachi Zainapora were also thoroughly searched by NIA teams.
Similarly, the raids were going on at other locations also in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official confirmed that the raids are being conducted in connection with a case already registered at the NIA office Jammu bearing FIR no RC 5/2022. (KDC)
