NGO, SOS children’s villages of Srinagar distributes relief among needy in Srinagar

A Non Governmental organization (NGO) called SOS children’s Village of Srinagar distributed relief among the needy in Srinagar on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by the organisation it distributed dry ration kits to 167 families under its Family Strengthening Program supported by GIVE INDIA.

The kits were distributed among the marginalised families of one of the slum area in Srinagar Pamposh Colony Palpora. On the ocassion Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Mr. Noor Mohammad Mir was the guest of honour.

“The vulnerable families are suffering and hardly making both ends meet given the lockdown in the valley since 2019. Its a small token of love from our organisation to the downtrodden,” said Affarmand Rashid, Project Incharge.

She said SOS will hold more such relief distributions in the future to provide assistance to needy families.

SOS Children’s Villages is operational in India since 1964 providing a loving home to children without parental care and keeping biological families together. It is spread across 32 villages in 22 states and Union territories.
