Noted Socio-Poltical activist Javed Beigh greets people on Navroz

Beerwah: Noted social activist, columnist and political commentator Javed Ahmad Beigh from Beerwah wished people on happy and joyous occasion of Navreh/Navroz.
He said that spring festivals of Navreh and Navroz are part of secular spirit of Kashmir and Kashmiriyat as it is celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims alike. The festival welcomes onset of spring season in Kashmir and had acted as a cultural bridge to unite Kashmir’s Hindu and Muslim communities for centuries in the bond of brotherhood.
On this occasion, Javed Beigh also remembered 8 Kashmiri Hindu Pandits, who were killed by militants on this day in 1997. He paid his tribute to the memory of Late Shri Avtar Krishan Pandita Sahab, who also his school teacher and was among those killed on that fateful day. He rued the fact that all Kashmiri Pandits living near his village left Kashmir Valley after that incident, never to come back again.Their homes lie in ruins.
Javed Beigh said that he hopes that Kashmiri Hindu Pandits return back to Kashmir Valley with full honor and dignity and once again celebrate the merry making festival of both Navreh and Navroz with rest of Muslim community of Kashmir.
