One militant has been killed in an ongoing overnight gunfight at Wagoora area of Nowgam in central Kashmir’s Srinagar on Wednesday.
The gunfight had ensued after a team of police and CRPF was fired upon during a cordon-and-search operation launched in the area amid specific information about the presence of the militants.
“One militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight. However, identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained,” a police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS). “Search going on,” said the police.
