Police arrests Two drug peddlers in Central Kashmir; Psychotropic substances recovered
Police have arrested two drug peddlers in central kashmir’s Srinagar and Budgam districts and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In Srinagar, officers at a checkpoint established near Syed Mansoor Chowk intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK01AE-4883. The person riding the scooty has been identified as Mursal Amin Bhat resident of Sekidaffar Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover huge quantity of psychotropic substance concealed in a polythene bag from the boot-space of scooty. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Scooty used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 04/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Karan Nagar and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
While in Kulgam, officers at a checkpoint established at Ghat Mohalla Narbal intercepted an individual identified as Gulzar Ahmed Bhat resident of Ghat Narbal. During checking, officers were able to recover 48 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 21/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Magam and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
