SHOPIAN:In a concerted effort to combat the spread of poliovirus, the Pulse Polio Immunisation campaign was formally inaugurated in District Shopian.
The event, graced by the esteemed presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Zakir Hussain Faaz, alongside Chief Medical Officer Dr. Arshid Hussain Tak and Block Medical Officer Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Naikoo, marked a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare landscape.
With a targeted aim to administer 42,840 doses across 382 immunisation booths, the campaign underscores a steadfast commitment to eliminating poliovirus from the community.
To facilitate the seamless execution of the initiative, a dedicated staff comprising 12,328 members has been deployed across the district. This concerted effort reflects the collective resolve of healthcare authorities and underscores the paramount importance of preventive measures in safeguarding public health against preventable diseases.
