Two arrested for alleged burglary in Kupwara

Two persons have been arrested by police on Saturday for allegedly committing burglary in Kralpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district earlier this week.

A police official told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that on receiving a complaint from one Gowhar Ahmad Tanzoo, a resident of Dardsun Kralpora into missing of mobile phones and other paraphernalia from his shop on 14 July 2021, a hunt was subsequently launched to catch the burglars.

The team zeroed in and apprehended two persons namely Amir Mohi-ud-Din Mir and Riyaz Ahmad Ganai alias Eifa, both residents of Payerpora Haihama area, the official said adding On confession of the duo, police recovered as many as thirty-six burgled mobile phones from the houses of the two accused persons.

An FIR number 74/2021 under section 457, 380 IPC stands registered at Police Station Kralpora and further proceedings are being initiated in this regard, the official added. (GNS)
